Catonsville Girl on Life Support After Heart Transplant Complications

Six-year-old Catonsville resident Teresa Bartlinski, a heart transplant patient, is on life support due to complications from her surgery last week in Philadelphia.

She underwent another surgery Monday to repair her atrium, according to a report on FOX45 TV.

"Teresa's broken heart vessels were smaller than the heart donor's which led to the complications," the report states.

Her parents, Ann and Ed Bartilinski adopted her from China in 2010, according to another FOX45 TV report in August 2010.

At the time they knew Teresa had the severe medical need for a heart transplant—and only up to a few years to live if she didn't get one, the report states.

The family has four biological children, as well as four other adopted girls, all who have severe medical needs, it states.
