Melissa French, Neighbor

Melissa French grew up in Upstate New York where she not only discovered her love for nature and small-town community, but also obtained her B.A in digital and visual journalism from the State University of New York at Albany. Succeeding graduation this past May, she has migrated to Maryland to pursue her career in journalism.

She is currently a full-time aviation journalist for an award-winning weekly trade publication Air Safety Week, monitoring security trends and offering critical analysis on military, commercial, business and private aircraft. 

She has interned at the American Lung Association in New York focusing her research on promoting and raising awareness of lung health.  Melissa has written for various college publications, <i>Albany Student Press </i>and <i>Varsity</i> newspaper in Cape Town, South Africa.  She has also written for the web at ccSCOOP.com drawing attention to the importance of local agriculture in Upstate New York. She has covered news, community events, arts and entertainment.
