Baltimore County children will benefit from the indoor soccer team moving to Parkville.
Your children might soon be attending a soccer camp with a soccer champ. The Baltimore Blast—which won the Major Indoor Soccer League championship for the seventh time on Saturday—will be hosting clinics in Baltimore County in the near future. The club announced a new initiative to give back to Baltimore County schools and rec programs last week, after officially moving to the Northeast Region Recreation Center in Parkville. The Blast defeated Missouri Saturday at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore to win the title.
Using a second-half surge, the Baltimore Blast won the 2013 Major Indoor Soccer Championship Saturday night at 1st Mariner Arena. The Blast trailed Missouri by four at halftime, but rallied to win, 8-6, taking the championship series in two straight games. The championship is the seventh for the Blast. Saturday's low-scoring contest was in contrast to the Blast's 21-12 win Thursday at Missouri. Rookie goalkeeper William Vanzela was named the championship series MVP. The Blast play at home Saturday after opening the MISL Championship series with a 21-12 win Thursday in Missouri.
The Major Indoor Soccer League trophy will be awarded in Baltimore Saturday. The Blast are hoping the trophy will return to Baltimore yet again. The indoor soccer team is in the running for another championship this week, having won Game 1 at Missouri Thursday night. After taking the opener, 21-12, the Blast and Comets will meet in Game 2 at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore. If the series is split after two games, the title will be determined in a mini game immediately following Game 2. Still don't comprehend? It's OK. It seems history is destined to repeat itself again this season as league leaders Baltimore Blast and Milwaukee Wave prepare one final showdown ahead of the Major Indoor Soccer League playoffs. The Blast (20-5) and the Wave (18-3) are currently tied for first in the league standings. The Wave have five more games to play, although both teams have secured spots in the post season. The Wave were riding a 16-game winning streak before last Sunday. The Blast meanwhile go into Saturday's match-up with five consecutive victories. The Baltimore Blast will host Milwaukee Friday night in Game 1 of the MISL Championship series. The game begins at 7:35 p.m. at 1st Mariner Arena.
