The Maryland State Highway Administration is planning to route traffic back onto the Patapsco Bridge after two years of renovation work.
Welcome to the newly renovated Patapsco River Bridge, if you’re driving eastbound, that is. The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) plans to shift eastbound traffic on US Route 40 onto the rehabilitated bridge after almost two years of construction, which saw the construction of a temporary bridge. Weather permitting, eastbound traffic will be shifted from the temporary bridge to the reconstructed, original bridge on Wednesday, Dec. 19 between 9 a.m. and 3p.m., according to a statement. Drivers should expect temporary lane closures and lane shifts, but once the switchover is complete, the westbound side of Route 40 will be open to two lanes. Work has started at the former Toys "R" Us location on Baltimore National Pike.
Work has started in the old Toys "R" Us property at One Mile West Shopping Center to make way for Lotte Plaza. But despite an intial planned summer opening, company officials said Monday that they won't open until November. Lotte Plaza is an international market that primarily sells Asian food and products. In March they announced the lease for the 46,000-square-foot retail space that had been occupied by Toys "R" Us on Baltimore National Pike. The Fedder Company owns One Mile West Shopping Center. Mikey Shin, a manager of the company, said Monday that the company hopes to have the renovations completed for the space by the first week of November. Lotte Plaza will move into One Mile West Shopping Center.
Lotte Plaza, the international market that primarily sells Asian food and products, is opening a store in Catonsville. According to a press release, the store has signed a lease for the 46,000-square-foot retail space that had been occupied by Toys "R" Us on Baltimore National Pike. The Fedder Company owns One Mile West Shopping Center. The store will undergo renovations, which are expected to begin this month, and is scheduled to open this summer The store will bring 50-75 jobs to Catonsville initially, according to Alvin Lee, director of Lotte Plaza.
