Police Release Image of Suspect in ATM Robberies

A suspect has been linked to robberies at ATMs on Baltimore National Pike, Frederick Road and Wilkens Avenue.

Baltimore County police released a surveillance photograph of a man suspected in several armed robberies in the area. Between June 17 and July 22, a man armed with a handgun confronted victims while they used ATMs on Baltimore National Pike, Frederick Road, and Wilkens Avenue, according to police. The suspect approached the victims, displayed a handgun and demanded money, police said. The suspect used a vehicle in all of the cases, but the vehicle descriptions varied from one crime to the next, according to police. All of the robberies occurred on Saturday or Sunday evening, between 9:30-10:30 p.m, police said.  Detectives recovered the surveillance photograph from an ATM in the 500 block of Frederick Road after a July 22 robbery, …

Lansdowne Man Gets 30 Years for Robberies

All but 10 years suspended for Stephen James Hughes, 34, of the 500 block of Fifth Avenue.

A Lansdowne man was sentenced on April 23 to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to pulling an unusual series of convenience store robberies in Catonsville last year. Stephen James Hughes, Jr., 34, of the 500 block of Fifth Avenue in Lansdowne, pleaded guilty to several charges of robbery, theft and assault related to a  series of events last November in which he returned to the scene of his first crime and was arrested. According to police, on Nov. 22 at 7:45 a.m., Hughes walked into the 7-Eleven located on the 1600 block of Edmondson Avenue in Catonsville. Police said that Hughes squeezed the buttocks of the store clerk, handed her a note and demanded money. During the robbery, he kept his right hand in his pocket, suggesting that …

M&T Bank on Frederick Road Robbed

Police are searching for the suspect.

Baltimore County Police are searching for a man who robbed the M&T Bank on the 700 block of Frederick Road this morning. According to police, the suspect walked into the bank at 9:15 a.m. and handed a teller with a note demanding money. The teller handed over cash and the suspect walked out of the bank. Police described the suspect as a black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build and a bald head. He was wearing sunglasses and a dark jacket.
