Strangers Invade Catonsville Home

Police: Residents were tied up, threatened at gunpoint.

A man and woman were allegedly held at gunpoint Sunday after three men invaded their home. Between 4:58 a.m. and 5:08 a.m., the residents were at home in the 300 block of Stratford Road in Catonsville when the men broke in, tied up the male resident and pointed a "long gun" at him, according to a report by Baltimore County police. The invaders, who the residents do not know, stole two TVs, two laptop computers, a cell phone, cash and a red purse, the report by the Wilkens precinct states.

3 Men Accused of Robbing 24 Area Convenience Stores

The trio allegedly held up Royal Farms, 7-Eleven and High's stores in the city and the county.

(UPDATED, 1:14 p.m.)—Three men have been arrested and charged with robbing 24 convenience stores in both Baltimore City and Baltimore County. The men were arrested following a high-speed pursuit into Baltimore County after robbing two convenience stores in North Baltimore. They were taken into custody in a parking garage at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson. "There is no doubt that these three men would have continued victimizing businesses and store employees if our robbery detectives in the County and the City had not used solid police work to put the pieces together, and then relentlessly pursued this case," Baltimore County Police Chief Jim Johnson said in the news release. Teen Shot in Gywnn Oak Treated and Released

A 15-year-old was shot during a robbery on Dec. 29, according to Baltimore County Police.

A 15-year-old male was treated and released for a gunshot wound he suffered during a robbery, Baltimore County Police said. Just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29., Baltimore County Police responded to an incident near Windsor Mill Road and Meadowview Drive in Gwynn Oak, where they found a 15-year-old male with one gunshot wound to his upper body. The teen told police he was shot during a robbery by two suspects, according to a Baltimore County Police press release. The 15-year-old has since been treated for his injuries and released. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspects, the release said.

Help Police Find a Gas Station Robbery Suspect

Man was filmed during a robbery in Catonsville this fall.

Baltimore County police have released a photo of a man they say is responsible for a Catonsville robbery. On Oct. 21 the man ran up to a woman at a Shell gas station in the 900 block of Ingleside Ave., and grabbed her wallet while she was getting into her vehicle, according to a news release. He ran eastbound on Calyn Road, it states. The suspect is in his 30s, is 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds. He has a medium build and is bald. Witness Thwarts Route 40 Purse Snatching

Woman assaulted, has purse taken by ex-boyfriend on Nov. 11 altercation.

A 43-year-old woman robbed on Nov. 11 at a Route 40 bus stop would have been worse off had it not been for the prompt and decisive action of a witness, according to a police report. At around 9:48 a.m., the woman, a resident of the 500 block of Charing Cross Rd., was approached by her ex-boyfriend at a bus stop near Route 40 and Coleridge Road, the report said. The ex-boyfriend assaulted the victim, took her purse, and began to get away, according to police. A witness stopped the suspect, who dropped the purse and fled the scene on foot, the report said. Woman Robbed at Wilkens Avenue Bus Stop

Two suspects take purse from 40-year-old woman waiting for bus near Wilkens Beltway Plaza.

A 40-year-old woman was robbed of her purse on Oct. 26 while waiting for a bus at Wilkens Avenue and Maiden Choice Lane near Wilkens Beltway Plaza, according to a police report. At around 6:15, the woman was waiting for the bus when two teenage male suspects walked past and said hello, the report said. When the woman turned around, the suspects pushed the woman against a fence and took her purse, according to the report. The suspects ran down College Avenue to the rear of the 4400 block of Alan Drive, where they took the money and identification out of the victim's wallet and left the purse, the report said.

Woman Robbed Near Route 40 Store

Bag taken from woman as she was leaving Nail Quest on the 5300 block of Baltimore National Pike on Oct. 25.

A woman was robbed as she was leaving Nail Quest, on the 5300 block of Baltimore National Pike, at around 8:15 on Oct. 25, according to a police report. As the woman was walking out of the store, a man grabbed the bag she was carrying and used physical force to take the bag from her, the report said. The suspect ran toward Baltimore City after snatching the bag from the victim, according to the report. The contents of the bag were not disclosed by the police.

Man Robbed at Route 40 ATM

Suspect pulls gun from pocket and takes cash after victim uses an ATM on Oct. 25.

A 18-year-old Baltimore City man was robbed on Oct. 25 after using an ATM at Catonsville Plaza, on the 5400 block of Baltimore National Pike, according to a police report. At 7:45 p.m., the victim was approached by an unknown suspect after he used the ATM, the report said. The suspect reached into a pocket, pulled out a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the victim, according to the report. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and fled on foot across Baltimore National Pike, the report said.

Man Robbed in Paradise

Catonsville man robbed of $642 after visiting friend's house.

A Catonsville man was robbed after leaving a friend's house in the vicinity of Mt. Ridge Rd. and Paradise Ave. on Sept. 18, according to police. The 18-year-old victim, a resident of the 400 block of Neepier Ave, had left his friend's house at around 9:05 p.m. when he was struck on the head and held on the ground by three suspects, police said. The suspects went through the victim's pockets and took his car keys, according to police. They then went into his vehicle and took $642 from his glove box and a textbook before fleeing on foot, police said. No weapon was used in the robbery, according to police.

Hi Lisa, good of you to give the wallet to the police. The incident mentioned above happened pretty far from the post office in Arbutus/Halethorpe. The report for the above incident didn't mention either a wallet or sandals being taken from the victim. If the credit cards and car keys were still there, sounds like somebody left them by mistake.   more ›

Three Charged in Attempted Stun Gun Puppy Robbery

Three people accused of using stun gun to steal acquaintance's dog.

Three people have been charged in an Aug. 30 incident in which a stun gun was used as a weapon in an attempt to steal a puppy belonging to an acquaintance, according to police. At around 5:55 p.m., a 23-year-old woman who lives on the 3800 block of McDowell Lane was outside with her puppy when she was approached by a man and two women who attempted to take her pet, police said. One of the suspects produced a stun gun, but the weapon was not used on the victim, according to police. The suspects fled the scene when the victim resisted, but later returned and were arrested, police said.
