Catonsville Weather: Warm Weather, Rain Late This Week

Storms could move in as early as Thursday.

It's T-shirt weather in the Baltimore area for the next few days. Temperatures could get up as high as 81 in Catonsville on Wednesday, according to a National Weather Service forecast. Things are expected to cool down starting Thursday, as a system rolls in bringing a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms. Rain chances rise to 60 percent Thursday night and into Friday.

If you liked the warmer weather this past weekend, it might be a while before we experience it again. We can expect breezy and cooler conditions in Pikesville for most of this week, according to the National Weather Service forecast. The worst of the winds are Monday, with gusts forecast up to 29 mph, and west to northwest winds through Wednesday. Temperatures won't get above the low 50s, according to forecasters. A chance of sprinkles is in the forecast for Monday afternoon, with a 60 percent chance of rain on Thursday night and into Friday.

Snow, sleet and rain are in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday. The Weather Channel's forecast calls for rain in the Catonsville area  Monday afternoon and returning overnight Monday, with cloudy conditions much of the day. The National Weather Service calls for a 40 percent chance of showers Tuesday. Tempoeratures could get into the low 50s on Tuesday, but highs won't get above the 40s for the rest of the week, according to forecasters.

There's a 100 percent chance the Baltimore metro area will get precipitation Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

UPDATE (11:39 a.m. Feb. 26) Expect a total of up to 1.25 inches of rain Tuesday for most of Baltimore metro area. Rain could begin falling this afternoon, leaving about .25 inches in the Baltimore Metro area. Wind gusts could be as high as 30 mph in the afternoon, and up to an additional 1 inch of rain is possible Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Temperatures Tuesday could get as high as the mid-40s, with the low around 40 degrees, the forecast states. Wednesday will begin as cloudy, as there's a chance of rain showers, according to the forecast. But there will be sunshine later, with highs in the mid-50s.   Rain is in Tuesday’s forecast, mostly in the morning. Clouds should clear to mostly sunny skies and a high temperature near 50 degrees. Tuesday night, temperatures drop to around freezing. Wednesday we’ll see mostly sunny skies, but chilly temperatures, peaking in the mid 40s. Wednesday night temperatures again will drop to the low-40s. Thursday skies will be mostly sunny and the temperature should hit about 50 degrees, dropping to the mid-30s at night. Friday, again, mostly sunny with highs in the mid-50s, dropping to the mid-30s at night.
