Tips led to the identification and charging of Catonsville resident Craig Kenneth England in a Howard County credit card theft.
A Catonsville man has been charged with theft and credit card fraud after being identified via photographs posted on the Howard County Police Department's Facebook page. Craig Kenneth England was charged in an investigation involving two credit cards that had been stolen Feb. 8 from an employee's purse in the Johns Hopkins Medical Building on Charter Drive in Columbia, according to a statement from Howard County officials. Also charged in the scheme was Stephanie Nicole Stuart, 25, of Essex. The two individuals were charged via a criminal summons and have been ordered by a court commissioner to appear before a Howard County court, according to Mary Phelan of the police department's Office of Public Affairs. Police say Columbia man may have also secretly recorded at least two additional women.
A Columbia man has been arrested for secretly videotaping two Ellicott City women in their homes, Howard County police announced Friday. Police also say Michael Stephen McKenny, 42, of Hickory Ridge Road, may have taped two other women, as well. On Thursday, police released video clips that showed a man in the women’s residence. Police said the video was recorded on a camera that he had secretly set up in their home. The women had recently discovered the camera and reported it to police, but no suspect was identified after the initial investigation. Howard County Police are looking for a man who set up secret video cameras in an Ellicott City condominium shared by two women in their 20s. Police say the first camera was set up in late June in the bedroom of one of the women; over the next few months, the suspect returned to the condo several times to move the camera to the other woman’s bedroom and bathroom. There was no sign of forced entry into the condo, on the 8300 block of Montgomery Run Road, according to police. One of the women discovered a camera hidden in a closet last month, police said. Less than a week before summer's end, Alex's Snowball and Ice Cream Stand in Woodbine was broken into, according to Howard County Police. Sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning, suspects pried open a side door, then pried open the cash register, taking money from the store on the 16000 block of Frederick Road, according to police. The suspects also pried open a safe on the second floor, and took money from it. Police say the suspects also tried to get into the main office, but could not pry open the front door. Sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday morning, suspects entered a house on the 5000 block of Worthington Manor Way through an unlocked garage, according to police.
