The grocery chain plans to open second Maryland store on Baltimore National Pike business.
ALDI is coming to Catonsville in two weeks. The discount grocer will be opening its new store on Baltimore National Pike on Friday, Feb. 22. The store is going to be located at 6503 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. According to the ALDI web site, it is a discount grocery chain which operates more than 1,000 stores in 31 states. ALDI's web site said that the closest store to Catonsville is the one in Frederick. In fact, the Catonsville store will be just the second in the state. The chain tries to offer its customers the highest quality items at the lowest possible prices. And the public gets to come in starting at 9 a.m. that Friday.

Supermarket holding month-long celebration
The newly renovated Catonsville Giant supermarket has held a grand re-opening, marking the re-design of its layout, installation of self-scan checkout lanes and the expansion of its produce offerings. The store on Baltimore National Pike held a ribbon cutting on Friday. Over the next four weekends, the store will hold raffles, offer free samples, host live music and give away prizes, according to a company statement. During the re-opening, store manager Mike King presented a check to Catonsville Middle School Principal Michael Thorne for $6,433.25 as part of the A+ rewards program. Clipping coupons is not just about saving money. Most of the time it's like a competition between myself and me. How much money can I save and what I can get for free? A few weeks ago I was at Super Fresh, where they double coupons up to $.99. Actually, most of the stores around here only double up to $.99, so you could really do this anywhere. On this particular day they were tripling coupons— I was able to combine sales, store coupons and manufacturer's coupon for huge savings. Well, the Catonsville Aldi is sort of a bust. I guess it will do in a pinch if a snowstorm is coming and you need BMTP to survive the oncoming onslaught.   more ›
