Fireworks display from Baysox Stadium was GR8! They started a bit late but, it was worth the wait.Read More So many people in parking nearby parking lots EVERYTHING (to my knowledge) was PEACEFUL! I enjoyed watching people of ALL backgrounds, cultures and persuasions enjoy the light show, TOGETHER. I thank GOD for allowing me the pleasure to spend the time with my sons and granddaughter. It was bittersweet because my husband is no longer with us. If there is such a way, I am sure he was watching over us from his mansion in Heaven... THANX BOWIE law enforcement, the smooth operation of traffic control. It was a bit tedious but, EXPECTED. Most drivers were courteous and patient. As with EVERYTHING there are ALWAYS those who think they are ABOVE the law and devoid of patience. Still in all, we had a beautiful time.

Seems to be the new thing. Most of the news stations (radio and TV) seem to prefer using the presentRead More tense while reporting on things that happened in the past. Drives me nuts. By the way, isn't hitchhiking dangerous, and illegal in most places? Why is it cute when someone famous does it?

Must be nice to be in a business that makes the tax payers pay twice. 1. To have them film in yourRead More state. 2. To view the show/movie when it is released. and temporary jobs at that created. Maybe more tax breaks for companies to provide more full time jobs in the state would be better?

"The political drama received more than $26 million in taxpayer money over the past two yearsRead More to film in the state." This is an indictment of our incompetent and easily manipulated state level politicians. How sad.

This article has a typical lefty slant that unfortunately seems all too common at this site.Read More Americans feel dis-empowered because more and more people are losing their healthcare provided by their employers because of the trainwreck called Obamacare. They now recognize the Dems' and Obama's lie that "if you have healthcare you like you'll be allowed to keep it". Americans in the private healthcare market are seeing steep increases in their healthcare costs as a result of O-Care that are far higher than what they've seen before. Add to the mix that this is coming from a law that Americans continue to oppose by double-digit margins in poll after poll and that it was based on an 1800 page bill that was rammed through on Christmas Eve no less with kickbacks, bribes and lies and wasn't even read by Obama and the liberals (they had to "pass it just to see what was in it") and you see why Americans are feeling dis-empowered. And I haven't even mentioned the odious Personal Mandate that gives government the power to tax you for not buying something or the additional 1.8 trillion dollars in debt O-care is creating or its f'd up websites that billions of dollars were wasted upon. Oh yeah, then there's the fact that O-care redefined a full time work week as being 30 hours/week from 40 hours. The end result is that businesses are cutting workers hours to part-time and only hiring part-time (if they hire at all) to avoid Obamacare taxes. The DOL numbers show that out of roughly 700k jobs created in the first six months of this year 560K were part-time! We've never had a such a huge spike in part time hiring before in our nation's history and it's due to this sh*tty Obamacare. Even the unions have rejected Obamacare (even thought they strongly touted it and lined up for their waivers). Two friends of mine lost their full time jobs at their businesses and were forced to compete for a lousy replacement part-time position for just 20 hours a week. This crappy law is turning us into a nation of part-timers. So, yeah, I'd say my friends and all of us are feeling a little dis-empowered these days because of Obama and his deficit-ridden policies. Now how about some balanced reporting over there at the Patch instead of your typical ignore-the-obvious liberal slant.
