I really like this studio. Instructors here are safety conscious, classes are relatively small, and there is a good combination of movement and holding poses. Excellent classes for both beginners and more advanced students.There are even special interest classes, for example, Meditation. The building itself has a lovely, homelike atmosphere.You can get to know your teachers and other students and feel like you are welcome. I can lift, carry, and bend today in ways that were impossible a few years ago - and I feel it's a direct result of my regular practice at Avalon.

Since last June, I have taken yoga classes exclusively at Avalon Yoga and Wellness Center in Catonsville. What a difference it’s made in my practice, and in my life!

I discovered yoga back in the early 1970s. After all these years, I have finally learned how to come into downward-facing dog and not arch my back, actually relaxing in the posture! I have discovered how important it is to keep my shoulders away from my ears and on my back when I raise my arms overhead – something that’s not easy for me to do. Most important, I treasure the individual attention, thoughtful and gentle adjustments to my posture when necessary, and the integration of the postures with the breath. I feel more centered, calm, and relaxed than I ever did in numerous other studios.

In fact, my Avalon experience has been so positive that I’m now in their teacher training program. I hope to be able to help older yoga practitioners stay young and flexible, in both body and mind! Thank you, Avalon Yoga, for giving me the confidence to take my practice to the next level.

I have attended several different classes and workshops at Avalon, and the instructors always created a challenging yet safe environment. The classes are small allowing for greater individualized attention than I've received elsewhere. The classes are perfect for new or experienced students.

Leslie has created a beautiful space! Welcoming, inspiring, grounding and safe. Her class offerings are wonderful with so much variety with a talented staff. I am glad to see such a professional, talented studio open in the heart of Catonsville. I look forward to seeing Avalon's growth as I'm sure it's reputation will flourish throughout the community and neighboring towns.

This is a beautiful little studio right in the heart of Catonsville behind Ship's Cafe with their own parking space. They offer a wide variety of classes and I always felt safe and welcome.
I can highly recommend to give it a try. They offer free classes for new students in the first week of every new session.
