Catonsville Chamber and We Love Catonsville Host Main Street Seminar-November 14 at Atwater's

Catonsville Chamber & We Love Catonsville host Main Street Seminar at Atwater's - Nov. 14, 4:30 pm

Join us on Monday, November 14, 2011, 4:30 pm at Atwater's, 815 Frederick Road, for an interesting discussion with “Main Street” expert Tom McGilloway. Tom is a Principal at Mahan Rykiel Associates, Inc., a landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm located in Baltimore. He has 27 years of experience in the planning and design of downtowns, neighborhoods, open spaces, and streetscapes throughout the Mid Atlantic and Southeast, and frequently speaks on the topic.

There are many positive things happening on and around Frederick Road with the opening of new businesses, renovations, art visibility, concerts, and it is vital that we keep this momentum going. Tom will share with us ways the Chamber's Economic Development Committee, community volunteers, and business owners can work together to continue to improve and enhance Catonsville's Main Street bringing more customers to our local businesses. Many of his examples are fairly easy and inexpensive.

This promises to be thought-provoking discussion with many "before and after" photos of street enhancements that Tom has been a part of, as well as numerous suggestions. Our event is intended to be a positive and lively discussion about what we CAN do to improve our community. Please bring your questions and open minds. If you personally cannot attend, consider sending a staff member to join us.
