Will Saturday Be Ray's Last Dance?

The Ravens head to Denver to take on the Broncos in an AFC semifinal game Saturday.

The big question for Ravens fans is, well, now what?

What can the Ravens do on the road against Denver this weekend in the AFC semifinal after pulling off an emotional win over the Colts Sunday in Baltimore?

A win versus the Broncos would land the team in the AFC title game for a second straight year.

But a loss would end the career of Ray Lewis. That's why the team is going to have plenty of emotional drive in this contest also.

"We want the Lombardi Trophy," Baltimore defensive back Cary Williams said when speaking with the media after Sunday's game. "There wouldn't be a better way to send Ray out than winning one of those. We are going to go out and assess that team. We haven't seen them in a couple of weeks. It's going to be a great game. It's going to be a great opportunity."

Many on the Ravens see this as an opportunity after Denver dominated the Ravens in a 34-17 rout in Baltimore a few weeks ago. There's no doubt the Ravens would like to even the score and keep up their chance to get Lewis to the Super Bowl one more time.

Lewis played his final home game in Sunday's 24-9 win over the Colts and then took a victory lap after the game that brought back memories of Cal Ripken's jog around Camden Yards in 1995.

Now, the Ravens are concentrating on the Broncos, which some had already started thinking about right after the Colts' game ended.

"It's going to be a hard-fought game," Ed Reed said when talking to the media. "This is the playoffs. We know what we got. They know what we got. We're going down there with all of our weapons and all of our tools. And we're coming to bang."

While anything can happen it is very unlikely the Ravens are going to beat Payton Manning in the playoffs no matter what team he is playing for. The fact that we play Denver has little to do with it. We are playing Payton Manning. I hope we win but I am not banking on it.

I saw a clip of Ray Lewis doing his "dance" on the evening news Sunday and it was the silliest thing I've ever seen.

Yes. And there you have it: why he earns the big bucks.

Of all the contributors to these pages, you might be the most simple-minded of all.
I hope that you are 15 and live in a house where you are well cared for. You are not ready for prime time.

You weren't there either and I don't think you know a whole hell of a lot about it.
I couldn't care less either. You just sound simple.
