Four former UMBC men's lacrosse players are in the group invited to try out for the U.S. team that will be competing at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships.

The Americans won the title in 2010, beating Canada in the finals played in Manchester, England. Brendan Mundorf and Drew Westervelt each played on that team. Both are attackmen and now play Major League Lacrosse—Mundorf with Denver and Westervelt locally with the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
