Anthony Adams was named one of the country's top 15 assistant coaches by College Soccer News.

UMBC associate head men's soccer coach Anthony Adams was named one of the country's top assistant coaches, the school announced in a press release this week.

College Soccer News picked Adams for this award for the sixth time since 2000. UMBC won the America East Conference plus one game in the NCAA Tournament before falling in the second round this season, according to the press release.

For Adams, he was one of 15 assistant or associate head coaches picked at the Division I level that UMBC plays at.

He was last honored after the 2010 season. Plus, in 2003, Adams was one of 27 college coaches (in all sports) to be named as an Assistant Coach of the Year by AFLAC.

The school also said that Adams, a Dundalk native, played soccer at UMBC from 1992-95 and started coaching under head coach Pete Caringi, Jr. two years later.
