Accomplishment: In a seven-day span, Lane has put up some absolutely stunning numbers during the Comets back-to-back victories over Hereford and Eastern Tech.

In the two games combined, the junior has carried 20 times for a whopping 309 yards—good enough for almost 15.5 yards per attempt. Of those 20 runs, five have gone for scores as Lane has used his electrifying speed to burst through holes and produce touchdown runs of 64, 64, 58, 54 and 10 yards.

Against Hereford last Friday, he also returned a punt 75 yards to the house and had another return touchdown called back on a questionable block in the back penalty.

On the season, Lane has accounted for 632 yards and six touchdowns on just 71 total carries. He’s also excelled at his cornerback spot, creating a turnover in each of his last two games—an interception against Hereford and a forced fumble versus Eastern Tech—to help the Comets reach their 6-0 mark this season.

For all the impressive performances he’s put together and the accolades he’s received, Lane continues to remain humble as a player and on multiple occasions has stated he doesn’t care who accounts for the scoring as long as his team wins.

Here’s a telling quote from Lane after his squad’s 35-7 win over Franklin two weeks ago, a game where his long runs set up two touchdowns by teammate Aaron Jones: “We’re a team, so if I run the ball from the one to the one and he takes it [for the touchdown] I won’t be mad. We’re a team, we’re a family. I’ll share it. I don’t care.”
