Updated, 8:45 p.m.: With weather forecasts predicting a 100 percent chance of snow Tuesday—up to 5 or more inches—Baltimore County Schools have decided to turn this three-day weekend into four days off for the kids.

Baltimore County Schools will be closed for students and staff Tuesday, due to the weather forecast. Students were set to be off Tuesday for a teacher development day, but officials canceled that Monday, according to the BCPS website.

Teachers and 12-month employees are to report to school.

Baltimore County offices are closed until 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to the county website.

There's a 100 percent chance of snow Tuesday, with accumulations of 5 inches or more possible. The heaviest snow is expected late morning through the afternoon on Tuesday.

An arctic front will drop temperatures down into the teens Tuesday. North winds around 10 mph to 15 mph are also expected, with gusts up to 25 mph in the afternoon and evening hours.

This is timely. Announcing at 10AM that the schools were closed? Should be sent no later than 6AM?
