Five Ways to Enjoy Homecoming at UMBC

Activities stretch throughout the rest of this week and weekend.

With just 45 years of college history, is still forming its Homecoming traditions. This year's celebration mark the 11th year of activities, starting this today. Here's a list of activities that will be worth your time.

1. Alumni of the Year Awards Ceremony: Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Albert O. Kuhn Library Gallery.

The UMBC Alumni Association is honoring so of the many distinguished alumnus of the college. To register for the event, go here.

2. Men's Soccer Game: Friday at 7 p.m. at UMBC Soccer Stadium.

This game against conference rival New Hampshire will be televised nationally. Admission is free for students, $6 for non-alumni adults, and $3 for UMBC alumni, high school students and younger. Pay on site.

3. 5K Dawg Chase: Saturday at 9 a.m. at the stadium lot.

Start your Saturday with a three-mile run around campus. The entrance fee for non-students is $20 online ($30 on site) and students pay $10. To register, go here.

4. UMBC Fest: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the UMBC Quad.

This may be the event of the weekend, with a community picnic, food to sample, photos with the Mascot and games for people of all ages. For more details go here.

5. Comedy Night: Saturday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Retriever Activities Center.

Donald Glover, star of NBC's Community, will entertain for this year's Comedy Night.  Tickets are $20 for non-students.
