Chamber of Commerce Seeks Outstanding Teachers

The Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce teacher awards banquet is in April.

Students, parents and community members who believe their teacher deserves recognition can nominate him or her for the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 “Outstanding Teacher Awards.” Teachers also can nominate a colleague.

The winners will be recognized at a banquet at 5:30 p.m. April 10 in the Charlestown Retirement Community’s John Erickson Conference Center, 715 Maiden Choice Lane.

The requirements are: Teachers be within the chamber’s coverage area, must work for a Baltimore County public or private school, or must be part of a collaborative team supporting a Baltimore County public or private school.

Teachers also must demonstrate a commitment to student success and love for learning, exhibit quality or innovation of an educational program or entity, show a supportive and caring attitude toward students and support the school’s mission or vision.

Nomination forms can be downloaded on the chamber’s website. Forms should be emailed to teacherawards@catonsville.org, hand-delivered to the chamber’s office or be postmarked before the deadlne of 5 p.m.

The awards banquet’s keynote speaker will be Barbara McGraw Edmondson, superintendent of Catholic Schools.
