CCBC Will Offer More Classes Starting at Midnight in the Fall

The classes are part of the community college's Insomniac Institute.

The will offer classes at midnight starting this fall.

The community college offered two classes in the that started at midnight at the college's new building. Enrollment was , but instructors said they felt it worked for some people.

College officials are hoping that a class in a new program—criminal justice—will reach a new group of potential students. The class will be Criminology 202.

Linda Fleischer, chairwoman of the criminal justice studies department, said the class may work for people who need a criminology class to graduate, or for students who work odd hours at another job.

Students at the Insomniac Institute use the classrooms at the new campus library because the parking lot is close to the building entrance, making it safer at a late hour. A security guard is also in the building through the duration of the class and walks students and staff outside the building.

The college is also offering Principles of Human Growth and Development and Intro to Psychology at midnight.
