Catonsville Chamber Selects Outstanding Teachers

Six winners were chosen at the event on Thursday night at CCBC.

Six winners were chosen as the 2012 Catonsville Outstanding Teacher of the Year on Thursday night.

The first annual event sponsored by the , selected winners for elementary, middle and high school. An award was also given for a teaching team and for distinguished service to the community.

Nominations were solicited from the community, and a committee of chamber members chose the finalists, who were:

At a ceremony on Thursday night, all of the nominees were recognized and six winners were chosen:

Kim Bickerstaff: high school

Phuong Vu: middle school

Kate Jaudon: elementary school

The Rotary Club of Catonsville: distinguished service

Gerry Fromm and Melissa Fosnaught: teams that make a difference

Schools Superintendent Joe A. Hairston addressed those in attendance on Thursday, and all of the winners received citations from state elected officials, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Councilman Tom Quirk.
