Welcome to Purple Elephant Politics

We are so excited to expand our blogging materials onto Patch.com.  We hope you'll look to us as your first source of all things poltical in the state of Maryland, conservatively that is.

Before we jump in with the nitty gritty, allow us to tell you a bit about our team.  Purple Elephant Politics is the poltical arm of Strategic Victory Consulting, a boutique strategic marketing and fundraising firm based in Catonsville, MD. 

We do have an end game in mind, and we think it's only fair to share that with you ahead of time.  It's our goal to make Maryland a more balanced state, one with an actual two party (who knows? maybe one day, three party) state. 

Currently, Maryland is under deep dark blue, Democrat rule.  Basically, whatever the Dems want, the Dems get.  For instance, O'Malley wants to raise a whole schlew of taxes, most of which are regressive in nature.  Raise taxes in a downer than down economy?  They must be mad, right? 

The problem is that there is no other side, or very little of one at least.  There is no measurable accountability, no balance of true power.  If the one party rule in Maryland wishes to raise the gas tax $.15 a gallon, they can, and there's very little we can do about it (for now at least).

At Purple Elephant Politics, we feel enough is enough.  We're going to bring to the forefront the topics and issues that most effect your daily lives and tell you how you can get involved and make sure your voice is heard.

We also do a weekly internet radio show by the same name.  It airs Thursday mornings at 11 am, and we update our Facebook and Twitter pages frequently. Our team of bloggers will be bringing you daily insights into the world of politics, probably more than you ever wished to know.
