Work on Bloomsbury Avenue Still a Month from Completion

Crews are still working for a few more weeks.

Catonsville residents, don't be fooled by the new smooth layer of asphalt that appeared on Bloomsbury Avenue last week.

Crews still have roughly another month of work to do on the road, and still have another round of paving to do.

David Fidler, a spokesman for the Baltimore County Department of Public Works, said he expects the work to finish by the end of September.

What crews have done recently is mill the road, which is grinding it down. As they do this, they may find weak spots in the road that they will excavate and re-compact, Fidler said.

The $1 million project started last September. So far crews have added sidewalks the entire length of the road and have also improved the drainage of the road.
