Fourth Speed Camera Installed on Beltway at Frederick Road

Speed camera will be operational Tuesday.

Drivers on the Baltimore Beltway will have to slow down for a third speed camera on the west side of the highway starting tomorrow, after one is installed at the Frederick Road exit.

The speed camera will be in the work zone for the replacement of the Frederick Road bridge, where crews working for the State Highway Administration .

This is the fourth speed camera on Interstate 695 in work zones and the third on the west side. The others are at Charles Street, Liberty Road and Wilkens Avenue exits.

There are a total of 10 work zones in Maryland actively using speed camera enforcement.

The 21-day warning period will continue through Jan 2. Drivers caught speeding on and after Jan. 3 will receive a $40 citation.The posted speed is 55 miles per hour through the work zone.
