UPDATE (5 a.m.)—An estimated 10 million people in Hurricane Sandy's path could lose electrical power this week. Chances are, at least some of them will live in or around Perry Hall.

With the kids out of school and workers encouraged to stay home, spending the day without electricity could be especially inconvenient. Empty shelves at hardware stores in Perry Hall and White Marsh on Friday showed there just weren't enough portable generators for everyone.

As of 10 p.m. Sunday, the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company power outage map did not show any local power outages, but storm conditions are expected to worsen into Monday afternoon.

Check back for updates.

Wow, this turned out to be much less severe than expected, IMO. Here in Pikesville never had a power outage that lasted more than 1 minute, rain stopped, and hardly heard any powerful winds.

On Seven Courts, never lost power for even a second. The cable TV glitched on and off for a few seconds once or twice, but that's about it. Lost a tree though due to water tending to pool around it during heavy rains. The ground just turned to mud and it fell right over after enough wind gusts, but it didn't hit anything. I guess all that electrical work they did in the SCD area paid off. I'm shocked we didn't lose power here, but it's nice for a change. Hope power is restored to those who lost it soon.
