The 28,000 trees will be spread across 110 acres of land in these counties during the spring and fall of this year, according to a news release from the SHA. All of the trees are expected to be planted by the spring of 2013.

Funding to pay the contractor, Ed's Plant World of Brandywine, to monitor  the trees for a year after they are planted is included in the $1.4 million contract. If trees die within a year, they will be replaced at no cost, according to the release.

The trees will help with runoff and erosion control as well as water and air filtration, the release stated.
