Memorial Day: What's Open and What's Closed

Be aware of closings for the holiday in Baltimore County.

Government offices, District and Circuit courts, schools, libraries, banks, trash and recycling centers, health clinics and senior centers will all be closed and CountyRide vans will not operate in Baltimore County on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

In a news release, Baltimore County officials remind residents that those who would normally have trash picked up on Monday will now have that trash  picked up on Tuesday next week.

Also, there will be no single-stream recycling on Monday with those who normally have it picked up that day are being asked to hold it until the next scheduled pick-up on June 4, the release continues.

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) will close its full-service and express offices on Saturday, May 26, and Monday, May 28. All Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) stations will also close on both days. All MVA and VEIP offices will be closed on Friday, May 25,  in accordance with the State Service Reduction Plan.

MVA officials caution that the day before Memorial Day is typically very busy, so if you have to go, go soon, wait until after Memorial Day, complete your transactions online or use the automated phone system: 1-888-834-7344.
