Lawyer for Catonsville Terror Suspect Says FBI Failed to Record Meetings

Public defender argues entrapment.

The lawyer for Catonsville terror suspect Antonio Martinez has asked a federal judge to dismiss the case, according to WTOP Radio.

Martinez, who had lived in Woodlawn and Baltimore, after the FBI said it caught him attempting to detonate a bomb outside the on Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. The bomb was not real and had been provided by federal officials as part of a sting operation. 

According to the article, the FBI failed to record several meetings its agents had with Martinez prior to his arrest. Martinez prefers to be called Muhammad Hussain.

Martinez, a U.S. citizen who converted to Islam, faces up to life in prison if convicted in what officials said was the attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction against federal property. He is also charged with attempted murder of federal officers.
