Lane Closures Will Start on Frederick Road Bridge over Baltimore Beltway

Single lane closures will continue on the Beltway for construction on bridge replacement project.

The new normal for drivers and pedestrians who travel on Frederick Road over the Baltimore Beltway will start this week, as crews will begin to work in earnest on replacing the bridge.

The $13.7 million project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2013 and will include relocating the inner loop exit ramp to Frederick Road, new left lane turn lanes, new signals and new landscaping on that portion of the road.

The 53-year-old bridge will be widened to accommodate the future widening of the Beltway. An estimated 22,530 vehicles travel on Frederick Road a day.
