Kamenetz Discuss Economy With Catonsville Chamber of Commerce

"We're doing what we can afford to do," Kamenetz said.

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz brought his message of continued fiscal austerity to the Catonsville Chamber of Commerce Wednesday.

"We're doing what we can afford to do," said Kamenetz, according to a story in the Baltimore Sun.

The message is a continuation of one the county executive has been preaching since taking office in Dec. 2010.

In recent weeks, the county has stressed cost savings measures including labor agreements to control retirement benefit costs, early retirement offerings and consolidation efforts with the school system.

Those cost containment measures and fiscal restraint messages have also been part of the county executive's budgets in each of the last two years.
