County Announces Woman of the Year Nominations

Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 11, with awards to be presented in March.

Baltimore County's Commission for Women is looking for its next Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the Year.

The 31st annual awards will honor women who make "significant, unique and lasting contributions to the community, workplace, or school to further the interest of women and families," a county press release said.

Last year's Woman of the Year award went to Irene Spatafore of Dundalk. The Young Woman of the Year was Parkton resident Olivia Keithley.

Nominations for 2013 can be made on the county's website.

Previous winners and elected officials are not eligible for the award. Nominees must be Baltimore County residents. Young Woman of the Year nominees must be senior at a Baltimore County high school.

Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 11. Winners will be notified after Jan. 18 and the award ceremony will be held in March.
