Bloomsbury Avenue Work Will Continue After Fourth of July Parade

Baltimore County Public Works said construction will finish in September.

Road work on Bloomsbury Avenue will not be finished Monday for the Fourth of July parade, but Public Works officials said the road will be safe for the event.

"It will be safe," said David Fidler, a spokesman for the Baltimore County Department of Public Works. "Most of the curb and gutter work will be done."

Crews this week have been continuing adding sidewalks along the road and more work has to be completed before the project is complete, including re-paving and some planting.

The $1 million project started in September 2010 and is slated to be completed in September. Fidler said workers are ahead of schedule, however, and the project may be finished in August.
