Baltimore County Announces New Animal Shelter Plans

The new shelter is expected to cost the county $5 million.

Baltimore County announced Monday it will build a new $5 million Animal Services facility.

The facility will be constructed on 14-acres of land where the current facility is located in Baldwin.

"The facility is over 30 years old and inadequate in size and design to meet the demand we have in providing services to our pet owners, managing stray animals and finding new homes for our adoptable pets," Health and Human Services Director Gregory Wm. Branch said in a news release.
