Three Charged in Theft of Sykesville Dirt Bike Listed on Craigslist

The Suzuki dirt bike was stolen in pretend Craigslist purchase, police say.

Maryland State Police have charged three Baltimore men in the theft of a dirt bike stolen from a Sykesville home during a fake inquiry in response to a Craigslist ad, according to a press release. 

Troopers responded to the 2300 block of Lake Circle Drive in Sykesville around 7:50 p.m. Monday to investigate the theft of a 2005 Suzuki dirt bike listed on Craigslist.

The owner told police that three people arrived at his house, saying they were interested in purchasing the motorcycle, according to the release. Two of the individuals mounted the bike in the guise of a test ride and fled the area.

The owner of the bike followed the two and witnessed them loading the dirt bike into the back of a U-Haul truck, according to the release. 

Troopers located the truck on Liberty Road just inside Baltimore County and two of the three fled on foot into the wooded area surrounding Liberty Reservoir.

Willie Parrine Jr., 35, 900 block of Saratoga Street in Baltimore was charged at the scene with two counts of theft. 

On Tuesday at 7 a.m. Baltimore County Police received a call concerning two individuals matching the description of the suspects walking along Liberty Road. 

When police arrived on the scene, the suspects fled but were apprehended. Geraldo R. Freeman, 19, of the 1600 block Harman Avenue in Baltimore and Bobby F. Harp, 20, 800 block of W. Fayette Street in Baltimore were each charged with two counts of theft, according to the release.
