Police: BGE Impostors Are Robbing Homes

Several incidents have occurred throughout the county.

Baltimore County Police are warning residents of a trend in neighborhood theft, where uniformed burglars, posing as BGE workers, gain entry and rob houses.

Police said that four robberies have occurred in the last two weeks with suspects who claimed they worked for BGE.

According to police, the suspects wear uniforms similar to BGE and carry clipboards. Some wear construction helmets. The suspect will tell the homeowner that some work needs to be done and walk the resident outside. While the two are out of the house, an accomplice goes inside and takes items from the home.
