Police officers, friends and family members honored officer Jason Schneider, 36, Wednesday evening, hours after he was gunned down in a fatal shootout.

A veteran Baltimore County police officer, Schneider suffered a fatal gunshot wound while serving a warrant inside a Catonsville home Wednesday morning. A person inside the home was also killed.

Several hundred police officers and county employees gathered for the ceremonial wreath laying in Schneider's honor at a monument to officers killed in the line of duty. The monument is in Towson near the historic Courthouse and Baltimore County Circuit Court Building.
