Motorcyclist Hit, Injured by Catonsville Driver

The motorcyclist was flown to Shock Trauma and Frederick Road was closed for more than two hours, according to police.

A motorcycle slammed into a car Sunday, sending the rider to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, according to Howard County police.

Just after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, police say a 73-year-old Catonsville man in a 2002 Toyota Camry pulled out of a parking lot onto Frederick Road, but apparently failed to notice an oncoming motorcycle.

Driving the motorcycle was Mark Allan Kohlhepp, 46, of Mount Airy, according to police. A Maryland State Police Medivac flew Kohlhepp to Shock Trauma, where he was listed in critical condition.
