Gunman Thwarted in 7-11 Robbery Attempt

Cashier fled into back office when suspect walks in with gun, then leaves empty-handed.

An armed gunman intending to rob the 7-11 at 6350 Frederick Rd. in Paradise on Oct. 16 left empty-handed after being foiled by a fleet-footed cashier, according to a police report.

At 2:12 a.m., a man wearing all-black clothing and carrying a long gun with a pistol grip entered the convenience store, the report said.

When the cashier noted the weapon, he ran into a back office, according to the report.

The suspect pointed the weapon over the counter, then fled the store without taking anything, the report said.
