An Ellicott City man is in critical condition after a Thursday night crash in Marriottsville, according to the Howard County Police Department.

At 9:39 p.m. on Thursday, a Toyota Tundra headed north on Marriottsville Road collided with the left side of a tractor-trailer that was turning from Interstate 70 onto southbound Marriottsville Road, police said.

The driver of the Tundra—Mark Thompson Ford, 51, of the 4000 block of Columbia Road—was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical condition, according to police.

Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer—Erick Joseph Eimer, 27, from El Paso, TX—was uninjured.

Both Marriottsville Road and the ramp from I-70 west to Marriottsville Road were closed approximately three hours after the crash for investigation, according to police, who said the investigation was ongoing.
