Crime Roundup: Second-Degree Rape Reported at UMBC

The following arrest information is from the Baltimore County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following information is compiled from police reports from Precinct One/Wilkens of the Baltimore County Police Department.

First-degree burglary: On Monday, Nov. 28 between 7 a.m. and 12:50 p.m., someone broke into an apartment on the 100 block of Nunnery Lane. According to the police report, the suspect came in through the unlocked front door. The lock had been broken prior to the burglary. The suspect stole an unknown amount of cash and a pair of boots.

First-degree arson: A juvenile male and an 18-year-old male were charged with first-degree arson and desctruction of property after they can in a boys bathroom inside Catonsville High School on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 11:15 a.m.

Bank robbery: On Thursday, Dec. 1 between 11:20 a.m. and 11:25 a.m., someone walked into the , located at 5642 Baltimore National Pike and handed the teller a note. According to the police report, the suspect had his hand inside his coat pocket in such a way to imply that he had a gun. The teller turned over an unknown amount of cash and the suspect ran away.

First-degree burglary: On Friday, Dec. 2 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., someone broke into a home on the unit block of Dunmore Road in Catonsville. According to the police report, the suspect entered by breaking the pet door on the side door of the house. Once inside the suspect stole jewlery from the living room and the bedroom, two digital camera, a GPS, a Nintendo Wii and a laptop.

First-degree burglary: On Friday, Dec. 2 between 9:45 a.m. and 2:10 p.m., someone broke into a home located 300 block of N. Beaumont Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect got inside the home prying the wooden door from wall that entered into the side of the house. Once inside, the suspect stole jewlery and a pillowcase.

Second-degree rape: On Saturday, Dec. 3 between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., a female UMBC student was at a male student's room in the Susquehanna Dorms on Hilltop Circle. According to the police report, after the victim fell asleep, the suspect began fondling her and when she told him to stop he raped her.

Armed robbery: On Monday, Dec. 5 between 1:10 a.m. and 1:17 a.m., someone approached a car, which was parked at 6506 Baltimore National Pike. According to the police report, the suspect pointed a black handgun to the person in the passenger window and demanded jewelry and cash.
