Crime Roundup: First-Degree Burglary and a Hot Tub Stolen

Here's some information on incidents that occurred the past week in Baltimore County.

The following are summaries of incidents that occurred in Precinct One of the Baltimore County Police Department in the past week.

April 16: At 3:26 a.m., someone used a flat shovel to break the glass in the front door of King Dollar, located at 3905 Hollins Ferry Road in Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands, according to police. Once inside, the person took several packs of cigarettes and several cell phones.

April 16: At 1:47 a.m., police received a call for a domestic incident on the 2500 block of Old Frederick Road in Oella. Police arrived and talked to the victim, who was fighting with her husband. After police left, the woman's husband became angry and threatened to kill her with a knife. According to police, he swung the knife and cut his wife's shirt as well as her chest. Police were called back to the house, where they arrested 54-year-old Michael David Spann of the same address and charged him with first-degree assault.

April 16: At 3:53 p.m., police responded to Harmony Hill Court in Catonsville, where a man had tried to break into a home. The victim told police he was playing with his children when he heard a noise upstairs. When he went upstairs, he saw a man trying to open his sliding glass door. The man told his children to go upstairs and then opened the door. When he opened the door the suspect attempted to pull the man out of his home, according to police. The victim then pushed the suspect away, who fell and hit his head on a pole outside the house. Police arrested 41-year-old Jesse E. Duval of no permanent address and charged him with first-degree burglary. He was taken to Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, where he was treated for a cut on his head.

April 16: Someone broke into an apartment on the 4100 block of McDowell Lane in Baltimore Highlands and stole a 48-inch flat screen TV, a video game system, 10 DVDs and 10 video games. The victim was away for several days and when she returned, found a rear window open, according to police.

April 16: At 4 p.m. police responded to Sweetwater Pools and Spas, located at 6619 Baltimore National Pike. The owner told police that someone had gained access through a fenced-in area and stolen a 670-pound hot tub.
