Crime Roundup: Burglary, Assault on Baltimore National Pike

Incidents from Precinct One of the Baltimore County Police Department.

Mar. 31: At around 3:25 a.m., a report of a burglary was received from Tobacco Outlet on the 6600 block of Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. Police found that the glass of the front door to the business had been smashed with chunks of concrete. Two male suspects wearing hoodies entered the premises and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.

Mar. 31: At around 6:30 p.m., an attempted burglary was reported at Catonsville Transmission and Engine Repair on the 6100 block of Edmondson Avenue. An unknown person removed padlocks on a bay door and also tampered with a padlock on the front door of the business. There is no indication that entry was made into the premises or any property taken.

Apr. 2: At around 11:00 p.m., police received a report of an assault that occurred near Baltimore National Pike and Old Frederick Road in Catonsville. A man was walking south across Baltimore National Pike towards Braeside Road when he encountered three black males who began yelling at him, which he ignored. One of the men was described as 5'8" and thin, wearing a green hoodie and jeans. Another was 5'8" and thin, wearing a black hoodie and jeans. The third man was 6'2" and thin, wearing a White Sox shirt. When the victim was in the middle of the road, he was grabbed by the tallest suspect. He turned and noted that the other two suspects had the drawstrings on their hoodies pulled tight to obscure their faces. The victim reported seeing one of the suspects holding an object that looked like a scalpel. He was struck in the face, then felt two punches in his back. He walked to an aunt's house and discovered that he was bleeding from two stab wounds in the upper back. The victim was treated at Saint Agnes Hospital.
