Crime Roundup: Armed Robbery and Several Burglaries

The following information is provided by the Baltimore County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following are summaries from incident reports from Precinct One/Wilkens of the Baltimore County Police Department.

Armed robbery: On Monday, Oct. 10 at 11:54 p.m., a man walked into the Safeway, located at 5660 Baltimore National Pike. According to the police report, the suspect went to an aisle, started taking items off the shelves and putting them in a black drawstring bag. The suspect went to a cashier and told the clerk that he did not have any money to pay for what was in the bag. He then started to walk toward the exit with the bag. When an employee approached the suspect, he pulled up his shirt to show a handgun, saying 'do you want this in your face?'" He then left the store.

Attempted burglary: On Monday, Oct. 10 at 11:46 a.m., a man was caught by a neighbor attempting to break a padlock on a shed on the 200 block of North Beaumont Avenue. The suspect ran away when he was confronted by a neighbor.

First-degree burglary: On Tuesday between 8:40 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., someone broke into a home located on the unit block of Kenwood Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect removed a screen out of the side window a stole a 19-inch television, two laptops and a camera.

First-degree burglary: Between Tuesday at 8 a.m. and Friday at 7 p.m., someone broke into two apartments on the 300 block of Kenwood Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect entered through an unlocked side window and stole jewelry, a DVD player, a laptop and an iPod from the two apartments.

Second-degree burglary: Between Tuesday at 11:45 p.m. and Wednesday at 9:15 a.m., someone broke into two offices located at 405 Frederick Road. According to the police report, the suspect pried open front windows at Suites 100 and 154. The suspect stole three laptops, a camera and cash from Suite 154. The suspect also gained entry two Suite 158A but did not steal anything.

Attempted burglary: On Thursday, someone attempted to break into Catonsville Elementary School, located at 615 Frederick Road. According to the police report, the suspect pried open the cage surrounding the window but did not get inside the school.
