Crime Roundup: Police Make Arrest in Convenience Store Robberies

The following information is provided by the Baltimore County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following information is compiled from police reports from Precinct One/Wilkens of the Baltimore County Police Department.

First-degree burglary: Sometime between Nov. 9 and Nov. 11, someone broke into a home on the 300 block of Shady Nook Avenue. According to the police report, someone pried open the front door and stole two handguns, two rifles, jewelry and some coins from inside the home.

First-degree burglary: On Nov. 14 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., someone broke into a home located on the 4800 block of Fernley Square. According to the police report, the suspect pried open the front door and stole a camera from the inside of the home.

Second-degree burglary: On Nov. 15 at 12:38 a.m., someone broke into Catonsville Primary Care, located at 405 Frederick Road Suite 210. According to the police report, the suspect broke the lock on the money drawer looking for cash but then found it another drawer.

Second-degree burglary: On Nov. Nov. 15 between 12:38 a.m. and 2 a.m., someone broke into A Better Weigh, Inc., located at 405 Frederick Road Suite 163. According to the police report, the suspect broke a window on the side of the building to enter, but did not take anything inside.

First-degree burglary: On Nov. 15 between 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., someone broke into a home located on the unit block of Belle Grove Road. According to the police report, the suspect kicked in the rear door and stole two black laptops. The victim told police he was in the home at the time but did not see the suspect.

Second-degree burglary: On Nov. 19 at 1:21 a.m., someone broke into the Panda Express, located at 5860 Baltimore National Pike. According to the police report, the suspect got into the store using a crowbar on the side door. The suspect attempted to to break into the safe and the rummaged around the register looking for paperwork. The suspect is described as a white male with a black knit cap who wore all black clothing, black gloves and a backpack.

Armed robbery: On Nov. 20 at 5:45 p.m., the victim was walking home from the bus stop when he was jumped at Ingleside Avenue and Oak Grove Road. According to the police report, the victim told police he was jumped from behind and a suspect pointed a gun at his back. Then a female approached him and demanded that he empty his pockets. The victim handed over his wallet and his cell phone. The suspects then fled to the rear of 2 Oak Grove Avenue. When police responded they found the female suspect and arrested her inside 2 Oak Grove Avenue.

Bomb threat: On Nov. 21 at 9:07 p.m. someone called 911 saying that a bomb was going to go off at the Wilkens police station. The 911 operator was able to trace the call to cell phone and police responded to the location and arrested the suspect.

Armed robbery: On Nov. 22 at 7:45 a.m., the suspect walked into the 7-Eleven, located at 1611 Edmondson Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect walked into the store towards the back and squeezed the buttocks of the store clerk. The suspect handed her a note and demanded money. During the robbery the suspect kept his right hand in his pocket in a position implying that he had a gun. The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, 6 feet tall and weighing 230 pounds. The suspect was wearing a purple hat, a gray sweatshirt and black pants. He left in a orange and white county cab. Police later arrested the man, who was involved in several other robberies.

Unarmed attempted robbery: On Nov. 22 at 12:20 p.m. the suspect walked into the 7-Eleven located at 403 Frederick Road and demanded money from the register. The store employee said she didn't have any and the suspect left the store. Police later arrested the man, who was involved in several other robberies.

Attempted robbery: On Nov. 22 at 12:35 p.m., the suspect walked into the Royal Farms, located 504 Edmondson Avenue and handed the cashier a note. According to the police report, the suspect got startled and ran out the front door heading east on Edmondson Avenue. The suspect got into an orange and white county cab. Police later arrested the man, who was involved in several other robberies.

Unarmed robbery: On Nov. 22 at 12:40 p.m. the same suspect returned to the 7-Eleven on Frederick Road and entered the store with a possible note, but was arrested by police.

Armed robbery: On Nov. 22 at 9:17 p.m., someone walked into Café Di Roma, located at 1719 Edmondson Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect pointed a black semi-automatic handgun to the clerk and demanded money from the register. The clerk turned over cash from the register and the suspect ran out of the cafe. The suspect was wearing a black ski mask.

Second-degree burglary: On Nov. 25 at 1:07 a.m., police responded to an alarm at the Bank of America on 5311 Baltimore National Pike. According to the police report, the phone alarm and surveillance lines were cut and electronic equipment was scattered inside the bank. Two holes were also cut in the dry wall.

Attempted burglary: On Nov. 27 at 7:21 p.m., a woman was sitting in her apartment on the 100 block of Maiden Choice Lane when two suspects came to her apartment looking for a friend. According to the police report, the woman told them that her friend wasn't there. Four minutes later, they came back with another suspect and knocked on the door. When she opened the door, they tried to force their way into the apartment. One suspect had a small, silver-bladed pocket knife. The woman screamed for her boyfriend and then the suspects ran away.
