Catonsville Man Dies Following Car Crash in Odenton

Brendan James Truffer, 25, succumbed to injuries after crashing his car into a tree Saturday morning. Speed and alcohol may have been factors, police said.

A 25-year-old Catonsville man has died from injuries sustained in a car crash in Odenton early Saturday morning, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Brendan James Truffer, of 118 Locust Drive, passed away at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, three days after police said he lost control of his car and struck a tree on Patuxent Road north of Conway Road.

Truffer was driving a 2003 Toyota Solara northbound on Patuxent Road around 4:37 a.m. Saturday when his vehicle began to leave the roadway on the northbound shoulder. Truffer apparently over-corrected the steering of the car, lost control and struck a tree, police said.
