Catonsville Crime: Police Catch Man After Stealing from Safeway

The following information is provided by the Baltimore County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following information are summaries of incidents that occurred in Precinct One/Wilkens of the Baltimore County Police Department.

Second-degree burglary: 5:12 a.m. June 23. A 20-year-old man is charged with burglary after smashing a window at the Safeway on Baltimore National Pike and stealing cigarettes. Lucky Tavaris Moore, of no fixed address, was captured in a wooded area near the store a short timer later.

Fourth-degree burglary: Between 6 p.m. June 21 and 6:30 p.m. June 23. A scooter was stolen from a home on the 2100 block of Arlonne Drive.

First-degree burglary: Between 5 and 6 p.m. June 18. Two burglars stole jewelry, antique silverware, a laptop and a tablet computer from a home on the unit block of Thistle Road. The front door was forced open.

First-degree burglary: Between 6:30 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. June 18. Several pieces of jewelry were stolen from a home on the 2000 block of Devere Lane.

Second-degree rape: Between 11 p.m. and midnight on June 23. A woman said she was driven to an alley in the Academy Heights neighborhood and forced her to engage in sexual acts. The suspect then took the victim into the city to buy drugs.
