Catonsville Crime: 28 Cars Vandalized in Oakcrest

The following information is provided by the Baltimore County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following information is compiled from police reports filed in Precinct One/Wilkens of the Baltimore County Police Department.

Destruction of property: Between 10 p.m. on Sept. 2 and 7 a.m. on Sept 3. At least 28 cars were damaged in the Oakcrest neighborhood on the streets of Glenmore and Midvale avenues. Suspects slashed tires, scratched paint and damaged side-view mirrors. 

Armed robbery: At 12:05 a.m. on August 29. Suspect walked into Shirley's Family Diner, located at 5600 Baltimore National Pike, displayed a handgun and demanded money. Police described the suspect as man, 6 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build. He wore a blue fisherman's hat, a blue shirt with an Adidas logo and grey pants. He drove a black Ford Expedition.

Fourth-degree burglary: Between 8 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 4:50 p.m. on Sept. 2. Suspect entered the backyard of a home on the unit block of Keen Valley Road and stole two bikes.

Fourth-degree burglary: Between August 18 and Sept. 1. Suspect entered fenced-in yard and removed a lawn mower and a weed wacker from a home on the 6600 block of Kilmarnoch Drive.

First-degree burglary: Between 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 1. Suspect forced open the front door of a home on the 100 block of Sanford Avenue and a stole a Nintendo Wii, a laptop, video games and a BB gun.

The armed robbery at the diner - its interesting that they have all of those details but not eye or hair color or anything like that. Was he wearing a mask?

The destruction of property (vehicle damage due to scratching doors and hoods) also occurred to multiple vehicles on Rosewood Ave. Unbelievable. I'd love to see the responsible person caught and have to work to pay every last penny that it costs to fix each vehicle. I say set up more cameras and let Big Brother watch and record.

chipdex, If you have followed the Catonsville Patch you would know the answer to your inquiry. The Catonsville patch is adverse to hurting criminals feelings. Only positive comments are worthy of posting. Details of of a criminal's physical attributes is hurtful to readers' feelings.
