Body Found in Woods of Oella, Death Ruled Homicide

Baltimore County Police have identified the body of a woman who was found in the woods Sunday.

Baltimore County police have ruled that the death of a woman whose body was found near Frederick Road in the woods of Oella is a homicide.

According to police, a bicyclist saw the body on Sunday and called 911. When detectives arrived at the scene, they found no signs of trauma and no identification.

The victim was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office and an autopsy was performed Monday.

Police identified the woman as Janell Earlita Balogun, 33, of the 2700 block of Rittenhouse Avenue in Baltimore.

Police are asking that anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in Oella around Frederick Road late on June 9 or early on June 10 contact police.
