Frugal Family: Deals You Won't Want to Miss

Jam packed today with anything from bowling to soccer games, personalized coffee mugs to a little exotic flare.

Welcome back, my fair frugal friends. Are you ready for your next penny-pinching adventure? I mean, can you handle the vast amounts of deals and steals awaiting you in this week’s column? I have faith in you. You can do it.

Remember, not just any sale makes it into Frugal Family. Only the best of the best can catch my eye, and believe me, thousands of deals audition each week.  However, the few that make this list have undergone the scrutiny of a watchful and somewhat skeptical eye.

My promise to you is this: They will save you a substantial amount of dough.  They will add to your quality of life, even if only a sliver. And last but certainly not least, they will bring you utter and complete happiness and bliss.

Okay, maybe I’m stretching just a bit, but prepare yourself; the floodgates are open.

Time to Bowl:  Whether you’re thinking game night with friends or super family tourney, why not go bowling?  I don’t know about you, but it’s just not something we do very often, but when we go, we always have a blast.  I’m thinking it’s time for a bowling reboot.  Groupon has Brunswick Bowling passes for up to 6 players for 1.5 hours of pure bowling fun for just $20.  And yes, it includes the shoes and is valid during cosmic bowling. Maybe I’ll see you there.   I’ll be the one with the gutter rails up.

Get Fit Ladies:  Not that I’m saying you need to, or anything, but aren’t we always saying we want to.  Right now you can get a one-month unlimited basic membership to Curves for just $15 on Groupon.  Here’s my question: what’s stopping you now?  Oh and bonus, it’s a ladies only club, so you don’t have to worry about other men checking you out.

Movie Night In:  It seems that Blockbuster is trying to make a comeback by jumping on the RedBox train.  Hey, with this deal, I’m not complaining.  Again on Groupon, grab yourself 5 one night video rentals from a Blockbuster kiosk for just $2.  I know, right?  That could mean one nice Jane Austen marathon.

Have a Blast: Do you love soccer?  Well, my hubby loves it, as do the boys.  Right now on Living Social (notice how I didn’t say Groupon), get two tickets to a Baltimore Blast game for just $19.  Granted, and read this carefully, these tickets are only for the championship playoff on March 25 when the Blasts will be taking on a few Waves from Milwaukee. So make sure it fits in the schedule before you pull the trigger.

Personalize It: Oh, I will be getting in on this deal.  I’m feeling a ceramic travel mug with my company logo on it.  I love Café Press so you can imagine why I’d be all over this deal.  At Mamapedia, get $30 worth of Café Press fun stuff for just $15.  Really, the sky is the limit, so why not show off your creativity.   Oh and Mamapedia makes a donation to the school of your choice as well.  So it’s almost like charity.

Spruce Up the Home:  I love World Market, but Rockville is a little far to travel.  But every once in a while they offer discounts they make it worthwhile to either make the drive or shop online.  Right now, it’s friends and family time, so you can save 25% off your entire purchase.  However, you’ll have to wait until March 25 to start shopping.  Offer ends on the 27th.
