Obituary: Terry Rizzutti

Lifelong artist, philanthropist Teri Rizzutti has died.

With the deepest regret we announce the passing of Teri Rizzutti. A nationally recognized fine artist, Teri lost her battle with cancer on Oct. 21, 2011. She was 55.

Teri is survived by her father Alfred Rizzutti and mother Louise Rizzutti, her husband, Joe Tabeling, her stepchildren Jessica and Jay, her siblings Tony Rizzutti, Rocky Rizzutti and Laura Bergstrom. Along with nieces Olivia, Arianna, Elena, Sarah and nephews Tony, Nick and Sean.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25th from 3 -5 p.m. and 7 -9 p.m. at the at 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Cancer Support Foundation, Inc. 8268 Academy Road in Ellicott City.

Her earthly presence will not be forgotten as she has become the angel of color, painting the skies above for all to enjoy.

Born and raised in Howard County, Teri spent her youthful years creating drawings as a means of communicating to her Lithuanian grandmother. At the age of 9, Teri exhibited and sold her first piece of art at a local art festival. She pursued her passion throughout high school and majored in Fine Art at Towson University.

For almost a decade, the artist traveled along the east coast exhibiting at art shows and galleries. From 2002 –2008 Teri owned and operated a series of her own retail galleries in Maryland. Each location showcased solely Rizzutti originals. Teri’s art grew in popularity, being featured in several galleries throughout the US and in the International Art Expo in New York.

Teri Rizzutti was known for her passion of life and love of her community. Teri supported numerous organizations such as The Claude Mayer Cancer Foundation, The Howard County Domestic Violence Center and , to name a few.
